“The shelling on August 6 near the dry spent (nuclear fuel) storage facility at the Zaporizhzhia NPP caused damage, but the available radiation measurements show a normal level at the site, Ukraine said. According to IAEA experts, there was no immediate threat to nuclear safety,” the IAEA said in a statement.

At the same time, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that almost all seven main pillars of nuclear safety and physical security had already been violated, again expressing serious concern: “All military actions that jeopardize nuclear safety must be stopped.” Once again, the need for the speedy arrival of IAEA experts at the mission station was emphasized.
At the same time, earlier hostilities around the station on August 5 prompted the IAEA to warn of a “very real risk of a nuclear catastrophe.”
Supplement
On August 5, the invaders, using missile and artillery weapons, shelled the territory of a nuclear power facility located in the temporarily occupied Energodar. The nitrogen-oxygen station and the joint auxiliary building of the Zaporizhzhia NPP were damaged.
On August 6, in the evening, the Russian occupiers again carried out rocket attacks on the site of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and the city of Enerhodar. They hit the ZNPP site directly next to the station dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility (DSFSF).
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) assessed on August 3 that Russian troops were likely using a power plant to “play on Western fears of a nuclear disaster in Ukraine in order to reduce the West’s will to provide military support for the Ukrainian counteroffensive.” Isw also said Russia was “effectively using the plant as a nuclear shield to prevent Ukrainian strikes on Russian forces and equipment.”
