Vestberg believes that the work of the human rights organization has gone beyond what was originally the main activity.
Together with the lawyer Hans Jöran Frank Vestberg initiated the establishment of the Swedish branch of the human rights organization in 1964 after close contact with the founder of the organization in England, Peter Benenson.

Amnesty International said in its report that the Ukrainian military endangers the civilian population by creating bases and placing weapons in residential areas, including schools and hospitals.
The Ukrainian side immediately reacted to such a statement.
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the President’s Office, commented on this as “participation in the Russian disinformation and propaganda campaign.”
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the organization “wants to shift responsibility for crimes from the aggressor to the victim.”
In an editorial, The Times called the Amnesty International report Putin propaganda.
Amnesty International has apologized for the “distress and anger” caused by its latest report on Ukraine, but said it does not back down from the report’s conclusions.
