Schoolchildren who have changed their place of residence in Ukraine due to a full-scale war can study online or offline at any school. Children who have moved abroad can study online at their school or choose any other platform for education. This was announced during a briefing by First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Vitrenko .

When asked how the school year will begin for schoolchildren who have changed their place of residence and place of study due to hostilities, Vitrenko replied: “We have several models for these children. We can divide into two large groups – these are children who are abroad. For them, such forms of education as online education in their institution where they studied are possible, they can join the All-Ukrainian Online School, the International Ukrainian School or any online platform in order to get an education.”

Vitrenko stressed that an external form of education is also possible.
“We will re-enroll the main subjects if they joined the training in educational institutions in the country of temporary stay. We will re-charge a certain number of points for a particular subject. We definitely recommend that they connect to online learning in such subjects as Ukrainian language and literature, history of Ukraine, etc.,” he said.
According to him, if children are in places of temporary stay on the territory of Ukraine, they can join offline education in any school.
“If they do not want to get an education offline, then they can get an education online or in their schools in which they are registered, or in any other way,” Vitrenko said.
Supplement
Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet reported that as of the beginning of August, about 36% of educational institutions in Ukraine are ready for offline education, that is, they have protective structures.
In early July, the Minister noted that Ukraine is actively working on the return of offline education in the new academic year, but the safety of schoolchildren and students remains in the first place. According to him, local authorities will decide how to study for children in schools – offline or online.
