“At the beginning of August, 8,500 ten-dose vials of hepatitis B vaccine (85,000 doses in total) and 100,000 single-dose vials of multicomponent vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella were delivered to Ukraine,” the Ministry of Health reported.
Details
Delivery is humanitarian aid. All doses of the vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella have reportedly already been delivered to the regions, and the delivery of the hepatitis B vaccine is currently being prepared.
In the near future, 600,000 doses of oral polio vaccine and 99,500 doses of inactivated polio vaccine are expected to arrive in the country as humanitarian aid from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Health said.
“All vaccines included in the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations are available,” the ministry emphasized.
For example, as of July 1, Ukraine had:
- 1,377,625 doses of toxoid for the prevention of diphtheria and tetanus with reduced antigen content (ADP-m);
- 964,923 doses of pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus vaccine with whole-cell pertussis component;
- 358,560 doses of vaccine for the prevention of tuberculosis, etc.
In general, according to the Ministry of Health, the available stocks and planned receipts of vaccines are sufficient to meet the need for vaccinations until January 2023.
Addition
The level of vaccination coverage for 6 months of 2022 in Ukraine is below 40% – the Center for Public Health is sounding the alarm that, according to the calculations of such a trend, it will not be possible to reach the mark for the formation of collective immunity by the end of the year. Therefore, parents should make up for the children’s missed vaccinations, emphasizes the Central Health Service.
