People’s deputy Anton Yatsenko, who registered a bill on reducing the salaries of parliamentarians to the minimum, spent more on advertising on Facebook than he earned as a people’s deputy. This was reported by an analyst of the “Chesno” movement Ihor Feshchenko .

“For many deputies, 30,000, 6,5,000, or the absence of an official salary is not important. Especially for Yatsenko, who in recent years has spent more than his salary and all additional deputy payments on Facebook advertising alone. At the same time, I believe and know that a significant part of deputies really live only on salaries, take responsibility for their duties and do a lot of useful things. Some of them are fighting at the front and manage to fulfill their parliamentary functions,” said Feshchenko.
Economist Oleksandr Okhrymenko believes that this bill will not help to save a lot of money. What’s more, he will encourage people’s elected officials to take bribes.
And the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada called this initiative populist.
