“In the course of the implementation of the Initiative on the safe transportation of agricultural products, 16 ships have already departed from Ukrainian ports. They have 450,000 tons of agricultural products on board,” the agency reported.
Details
So, this morning, the first vessel that entered Ukrainian ports to load agricultural products left Chornomorsk port. It is a Fulmar S bulk carrier under the flag of Barbados. He left in the direction of Turkey. The ship joined the caravan with the bulk carrier Thoe. 14.5 thousand tons of agricultural products are on board two ships.
The ministry also released a video showing the loading process of the Fulmar S vessel.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Turkey informed about the departure of two more ships from the ports of Ukraine.
Addition
On July 22, Ukraine, the United Nations, Turkey and Russia signed an agreement (Ukraine and the Russian Federation separately) aimed at ensuring the safe passage of ships entering and leaving the three Ukrainian Black Sea ports (“Odesa”, “Chornomorsk”, “Pivdenyi”), which were blocked by the Russian Federation after the invasion of Moscow on February 24.
Ukraine and Russia are major exporters of grain, and the port blockade has delayed tens of millions of tons of grain in the country. The first ship with grain under the agreement left the port of Odessa on August 1. The first vessel to be loaded entered the Odesa port on August 6 for the first time since February 24. So, the corridor worked in both directions.
