According to the former adviser to the US president on national security, the war unleashed by Putin has determined the point of no return.
Before the war, the politician believed that the best option for Ukraine was the role of a kind of buffer between the West and Russia.
However, Kissinger emphasized: when Russia introduced troops into Ukraine, “a lot was cast” that fundamentally changed the situation. He stated that after what happened, Western countries should perceive Ukraine as part of the North Atlantic Alliance, i.e. NATO.
