Actor Alec Baldwin’s fatal shooting of a female cameraman on set last year was an accident, according to a report prepared by the New Mexico Office of the Medical Examiner.
The medical examiner’s report was released Monday by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, along with multiple FBI reports on the revolver and ammunition recovered after the shooting.
An earlier FBI analysis of the revolver Baldwin held in his hand during the rehearsal indicated that it was in working order and would not have fired unless it had been fully cocked and the trigger pulled.
The report prompted a reaction from Baldwin’s attorney, Luke Nikas, who says this latest report concludes that Galina Hutchins’ gunshot death was a “tragic accident.”
