Today, December 30, the bill №4470, which returns the powers of the NAPC and the responsibility for lying in the declarations, came into force.
The law restores the powers of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), including judges and judges of the Constitutional Court.
The law also provides for open round-the-clock access to the Unified State Register of Officials’ Declarations. It prescribes the procedure for control and full verification of declarations, monitoring the lifestyle of officials.
They will be fined if the information in the declaration differs from the reliable ones in the amount of 100 to 500 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.
Article 3661 was excluded from the Criminal Code, and instead the code was supplemented with a new Article 3662 “Declaration of inaccurate information”, which provides for criminal liability for such a violation.
Also, the Criminal Code was supplemented by Article 3663 on criminal liability for intentional failure to submit an electronic declaration.
Such a violation is punishable by a fine of 2,500 to 3,000 non-taxable minimum incomes or community service of 150 to 240 hours with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
