 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that the calls of some German politicians to launch the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline resemble the situation with drug addiction .

It is reminiscent of drug addiction when a person says, “This is the last time!”, without realizing the devastating consequences of each “last time”. Dependence on Russian gas is killing!” said Kuleba on Twitter.

Before that, the vice-speaker of the Bundestag of Germany, Wolfgang Kubiki, advocated the launch of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. “We must quickly put Nord Stream 2 into operation to fill our gas storage facilities for the winter,” Kubiki said.

He said that this should be provided by the Government of Germany. “If the gas storage facilities are filled, we can close Nord Stream 2 again, and other gas pipelines as well, if we become more independent. But now we are still dependent,” Kubiki said.

And even earlier criticized for his proximity to the Kremlin, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, who is now chairman of the board of directors of Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, also said that Nord Stream 2 should be launched.
