The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Austria to declare Russia’s permanent representative in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, persona non grata.

“Russian Ambassador Mikhail Ulyanov calls for the destruction of the Ukrainian nation. This language of genocide cannot be tolerated. We call on the entire diplomatic community in Vienna to boycott Ulyanov, and the host country Austria to declare him persona non grata,” Nikolenko said.

After Ulyanov’s post gained wide resonance, the Russian diplomat hurriedly published a post apologizing in an attempt to justify his statements.
In turn, the President’s Office responded to Ulyanov’s statements on its Twitter about the “need for a “final solution to the Ukrainian issue” and calls for “genocide.”
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk appealed to Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer to recognize the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, persona non grata and deport him to Russia .
