The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that the call-up for military service, which lasted from October to December 2020, has been completed.
The planned indicators of the draft have been fulfilled by 100%.
A total of 13,570 people were called up and sent to military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, including for:
Armed Forces of Ukraine – 7,500 people;
National Guard of Ukraine – 4,970 people;
State Border Guard Service of Ukraine – 500 people;
State Special Transport Service – 600 people.
“All servicemen are trained in training centers according to the program of basic general training in order to obtain their basic military knowledge, skills and abilities,” the press center of the General Staff informs.
The military department reminded that conscripts are not involved in the implementation of tasks in the area of the Joint Forces operation and serve in the military, mainly in the permanent locations of military units to ensure their livelihood, protection and defense.
Terms of military service are defined in Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service” and are:
- for soldiers and sailors, sergeants and sergeants who are serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations – up to 18 months;
- for persons who have a master’s degree at the time of conscription for military service – up to 12 months.
