The company reminded that yesterday two power units of the ZNPP were reconnected to the network after the shutdown and are producing electricity for Ukraine’s needs. There are currently no comments on the operation of equipment and safety systems, the NAEK said.
“At the same time, due to the presence of the Russian military, their weapons, equipment and explosives at the station, there are serious risks for the safe operation of the ZNPP. As a result of periodic shelling, the station’s infrastructure has been damaged, there are risks of hydrogen leakage and sputtering of radioactive substances, and the risk of fire is high,” – emphasized Energy atoms.
Ukrainian personnel of the station, as noted, continue to work and make every effort to ensure nuclear and radiation safety, as well as eliminate the consequences of damage.
“Ukraine calls on the world community to take immediate measures to force Russia to release the ZaNPP and hand over the power plant to the control of our state for the sake of the security of the whole world,” Energoatom emphasized.
