The Russian occupiers are firing artillery at the agreed route of the IAEA mission from Zaporizhia to the Zaporizhia NPP, the UN advance group cannot continue its movement for security reasons, Oleksandr Starukh, the head of the Zaporizhia OVA, reported .

“The Russians are shelling the pre-agreed route of the IAEA mission from Zaporizhzhia to the ZNPP. The UN advance group cannot continue moving for security reasons,” Starukh said in Telegram.

The head of the OVA emphasized that Ukraine continues to make efforts to organize the safe access of the international IAEA mission to the ZNPP.
“We demand from the Russian Federation to stop the provocations and give the IAEA unimpeded access to the Ukrainian nuclear facility,” the official stressed.

On August 31, an IAEA mission left Kyiv for the ZNPP and arrived in Zaporizhzhia on its way to the Zaporizhzhia NPP captured by the Russian occupiers. She should work at the station until September 3.
The IAEA is expected to provide a clear statement of the facts of Russia’s violation of all nuclear safety protocols at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.
Conclusions and recommendations based on the results of the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be implemented when the plant is returned to the full control of Ukraine, emphasized the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
