Bulgaria will more than double the visa fee for Russian tourists. This was stated by the Minister of Tourism of the country, Ilin Dimitrov, writes Anadolu .

Dimitrov noted that according to the decision of the EU, Sofia will cancel various benefits regarding visa fees that Russians enjoy when entering the country.
The visa fee for Russian tourists will be increased to 80 euros (from the previous 35 euros).

“It is impossible to completely ban Russians from entering our country, but the cost of visas will be increased. This decision, which we do not consider appropriate, is actually an EU decision. As EU members, we will have to comply with it,” he said.
The minister added that although direct flights between the two countries were suspended after the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine, more than 60,000 Russian citizens visited Bulgaria this year.
