Details
At least 10 people were killed and 15 others were stabbed in a series of attacks in the central Canadian province of Saskatchewan, police said. The attackers fled, and a search for them is underway throughout the province.
Victims of the attackers were found in 13 different locations, including the James Smith Cree Canadian Indian community and the village of Weldon.
Police named the suspects in the attacks as Damien Sanderson, 31, and Myles Sanderson, 30. It is not known if they are related. According to the police, they are armed and dangerous and are still on the run.
A state of emergency has been declared on the James Smith reservation, a measure authorities say is in response to “numerous killings and attacks” on members of Canada’s indigenous community on Sunday.
