Ukraine is waiting for the transition to the negotiation process regarding the country’s membership in the EU and is counting on the support of the European Parliament in this matter. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal after the meeting with the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola and heads of political groups .

According to the head of the government, the first plenary session of the EP in the new season will be held next week. And he is sure that the European Parliament and other institutions “will once again emphasize their unchanging support for Ukraine and will make victory in this war shamefully unleashed by Russia an unconditional priority.”

“The priorities remain: military aid, increased sanctions pressure, financial and humanitarian support for Ukraine. After Ukraine receives candidate status, our key priority is the transition to the negotiation process regarding membership. We count on the support of the European Parliament in this matter,” Shmyhal said in Telegram.

As Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized , the EU should completely stop issuing visas to Russians. Also, the civilized world should increase sanctions pressure, including a full embargo on Russian gas and oil, and continue to help the Ukrainian army.
