During his speech at the Rammstein-style meeting in Germany, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin said that Ukraine will receive another $675 million in aid from the US. The meeting was broadcast by the Pentagon.

“A few weeks after the last meeting, the United States allocated another $6.3 billion in security assistance to Ukraine. And yesterday, the president approved another tranche of US aid to Ukraine in the amount of up to $675 million,” Austin said.

According to the US Defense Ministry, the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, was supposed to announce another package of military aid to Ukraine today – at the next “Ramstein” meeting.
The format of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine was initiated in April by the United States. The first meeting took place in the German city of Ramstein at the end of April. The fifth meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format will take place on September 8 in Germany.
The previous meeting in the Rammstein format took place at the end of July. More than 50 countries took part in it. Then the participants of the meeting discussed increasing defense aid to Ukraine and ensuring its “defense and ability to defend itself in the longer term,” the Pentagon said.
Today’s meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine will be a signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin that the countries of the world are ready to support Ukraine in the long term, senior officials of the US Department of Defense reported.
