In Zhytomyr Region, Rivne Region and Volyn, special tactical exercises “Northern Storm – 2022” were held, on September 8 the active phase of the exercises was practiced, in which soldiers of the National Guard, the State Border Service, and the National Police together with the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part .

According to the legend of the exercises, law enforcement officers and the military practiced the engineering of defensive positions, namely, the mining of territories. In addition, the units trained jointly to liberate territories from the enemy’s forces and assets and repel his counteroffensive actions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Along with the main training maneuvers, the special-purpose units also reportedly practiced identifying, blocking, and eliminating armed groups and DRGs.
“It should be noted that such exercises are necessary to support the combat capability of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the areas of responsibility and combat coordination with the forces of Terrodefense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.

On September 8, military exercises of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus began in Belarus regarding “practicing combat operations for the liberation of territory temporarily occupied by the enemy.” The training will take place at the “Brestsky” training ground, in the Minsk and Vitebsk regions of the Republic of Belarus. They will last until September 14.
