NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on allies on Friday to provide Kyiv with winter equipment such as clothing, tents and generators so Ukrainian troops can continue to fight the Russian invasion in the cold season.

“Winter is coming, it’s going to be tough, and that’s why we need to continue to supply weapons and ammunition, as well as winter clothes, tents, generators and all the special equipment that is needed for the winter,” Stoltenberg told reporters after meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Brussels .
“Partly because the size of the Ukrainian army has increased so much, they need more of this kind of winter equipment, and NATO is particularly focused on how we can provide tens of thousands, for example, with winter uniforms,” Stoltenberg added.

Stoltenberg called on NATO allies to increase defense production and replenish their own stockpiles so that they could supply Kyiv with more weapons.
“We are now in close contact with the defense industry, with the capitals… so that we are now ramping up production to replenish stocks,” he said.
“It is also about ensuring that we have weapons, ammunition, capabilities for our own deterrence and defense,” he stressed.
