Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov during a panel discussion at the 17th annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) stated that Ukraine’s current task is not only to expel Russian troops from the territories they temporarily occupied, but to weaken them as much as possible in order to make it impossible to attempt a new offensive from at times .

“Sometimes we would like the Russians to run quickly and free our territories, and we would enter these places. And our military says that it is very important before they run, to destroy as many of them as possible – their equipment, their personnel. Because if you let them run, they will gain strength and try to return in a couple of weeks or months. Our task is to weaken the Russian army through destruction,” Reznikov said.
