The coffin with the body of Queen Elizabeth II will be carried on the last leg of the royal procession to Edinburgh Cathedral. King Charles III and other members of the royal family will lead the procession .

The late Queen’s final journey from Balmoral to Windsor began yesterday, September 11, from Balmoral Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. The late Elizabeth II lay in an oak coffin in the ballroom of Balmoral Castle, covered with a royal standard and a floral wreath, writes The Telegraph.
Members of the public were able to view the royal hearse and pay their respects to the late monarch as it passed through Aberdeenshire, as well as in the cities of Aberdeen and Dundee.
Today, September 12, King Charles III and the Queen Consort will arrive in Edinburgh from London to join the procession that will take the coffin from Holyroodhouse to St Giles’ Cathedral on the Royal Mile. The hearse will leave with a military escort at 2:35 p.m. local time, with the King and other members of the royal family following on foot.

When the coffin with the body of Elizabeth II arrives at the cathedral at 2:55 p.m., it will be received by a guard of honor from the Royal Company of Archers. Then the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon, keeper of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, will place the Crown of Scotland on her.
After the church service, the coffin will remain in the cathedral for 24 hours so that the people of Scotland can pay their respects to the late Queen. The King and members of the Royal Family will honor the memory of Elizabeth II at 19:20 local time.
