In a telephone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron called for an end to the war against Ukraine and for the start of negotiations.

Macron also condemned the continuation of hostilities by the Russian military and called on Putin to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
In addition, the French president added that the European sanctions do not apply to agricultural products or goods necessary for agriculture. He noted that “international partners, especially the Russian Federation, bear a joint responsibility to ensure that the countries exposed to the greatest risk continue to receive the food they need.”
According to the report, Macron also insisted on the need to guarantee the safety of the Zaporizhia NPP in the occupied city of Energodar, Zaporizhia region.
