People were taken out of Kramatorsk even though the only railway bridge was destroyed by shells. The head of the train, which was the last to take people out of the city before the tragedy at the station, told about it on Ramina Eshakzai’s YouTube channel.

“The driver calculated the trajectory of the passage with such skill that he “accelerated” the train to 2 km/h and all 15 cars passed under the broken bridge. We saw when we passed that there were guys in vests on both sides (repair crews – ed.). Shells are exploding, there is a lot of fire, and they are sitting there with flashlights finishing something. That is, they haven’t even left when we were driving,” Liliya Semenova said.

The head of the train is sure that the crew and passengers survived only thanks to the efforts of the driver and repair crews.
Early in the morning, passengers found out that the station had been hit by “Point-U”. Many of them had friends and relatives left at the station, some had not enough space in the carriages. There was screaming and crying from the despair of the passengers in the train.

According to the investigation, on April 8, 2022, the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in violation of the norms of international humanitarian law, carried out missile strikes on the Kramatorsk railway station.
At the time of the attack, the population was being evacuated, there were almost 4,000 civilians at the station, most of whom were women and children.
As a result of a rocket attack on the territory of the railway station of Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, 39 people died, including 4 children.
