“As Russia’s military mobilization will also take place in the Kaliningrad region, that is, in our neighborhood, Lithuania cannot simply watch. Our emergency response forces are increasing their level of readiness to prevent any provocations,” Anoushauskas wrote on his Facebook page.
According to the Minister of Defense of Lithuania, the possibility of increasing support for Ukraine is also being studied. He called on all partners to increase their support.
“Russian aggression in Ukraine must be stopped. Russia’s desperation to mobilize shows that it has no other options to save the occupied Ukrainian territories and is grasping for the last straw,” Anushauskas believes.
The head of the defense department also called the Russians being mobilized into the army “cannon fodder”.

“The partial mobilization announced by Putin (interestingly – “on the recommendation of the General Staff”) starting today, will allow stocking up on new “cannon fodder”, filling the almost destroyed units and sending new waves of poorly trained fighters with old tanks into the attack”, – he wrote.
