The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, made a statement regarding yesterday’s large exchange, as a result of which 215 people were freed, noting that they remember everyone who is in Russian captivity and will do everything for their rescue .

“Ukraine returned 215 heroes from Russian captivity. (…) We remember all those who are in Russian captivity, and we will do everything to save them,” Zelensky said in Telegram.

The President emphasized that the contribution of all those who participated in the rescue of the defenders is greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
“I sincerely thank the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for his leading role in this process. We agreed that the five released Azov commanders will be in comfortable conditions in Turkey until the end of the war and will be able to see their families,” he added.
Also, according to his words, as a sign of gratitude for the help to our country, Ukraine freed from Russian captivity five citizens of Great Britain, two citizens of the USA, citizens of Morocco, Sweden, and Croatia. “Thank you for the assistance to Saudi Arabia,” the Head of State noted.

In the evening of September 21, a major exchange took place – Ukraine managed to return 215 people from Russian captivity.
At the same time, out of 215 prisoners who were rescued from Russian captivity, 200 defenders were directly exchanged for Viktor Medvedchuk . Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin noted that the pre-trial investigation of Medvedchuk has been completed, the testimony has been documented. He also emphasized that the state remembers all those who remain in captivity. Together with its allies, Ukraine is working on an “all for all” exchange, the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
