Ihor Kuzin emphasized that there are enough tests in Ukraine to diagnose this disease. It is about the possibility of conducting 5 thousand PCR studies. Currently, such an opportunity is provided in each region at the level of local disease control and prevention centers.
In addition, each HCPC has guidelines on how to conduct epidemiologic investigations and monitor the disease. The relevant guidelines comply with all international recommendations. That is, in the field they know what to do in case of suspicion of monkey pox.
“In the event that a person observes similar symptoms: rash in the form of blisters, in particular on the face, temperature, headache, etc., seek medical help, using anti-epidemic protection means (protective mask, gloves, etc.) so as not to infect others” , – concluded Igor Kuzin.
Monkeypox is a smallpox-like disease caused by viruses of the poxvirus family. It is similar to smallpox, but has a lower lethality and milder symptoms.
Until 2022, monkeypox was recorded in Central and West African countries, while currently more than half of all recorded cases are in South and North America.
