The Bulgarian government called on its citizens to leave Russia as a matter of urgency. This is reported by the Bulgarian publication Offnews with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria .

“In connection with the deterioration of the situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria urges to refrain from traveling to Russia, and recommends that Bulgarian citizens who are in the Russian Federation consider the possibility of leaving the country as soon as possible, using the currently available means of transportation,” the message reads.

The statement does not directly say what the situation is that poses a threat to Bulgarian citizens who are in Russia. At the same time, Bulgarian citizens who are in the Russian Federation are advised to exercise increased vigilance and avoid mass gatherings of people.
