The EU condemns the holding of pseudo-referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and their falsified results, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Twitter on Wednesday, September 28 .

“The EU condemns the holding of illegal “referendums” and their falsified results. This is another violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine against the background of systematic violations of human rights. We pay tribute to the courage of Ukrainians who continue to resist the Russian invasion,” said the head of EU diplomacy.

On September 23-27, the Russian Federation organized a propaganda action called “referendums” in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued a statement regarding Russia’s fictitious “referendums” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, calls on the EU, NATO and the G7 to increase pressure on the aggressor state, including new tough sanctions against Russia, and to significantly increase military support for Ukraine, in particular to provide tanks, combat airplanes, armored vehicles, long-range artillery, anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense equipment.
Organizers of illegal “referendums” in 4 regions of Ukraine will have “consequences”, the diplomatic service of the EU said.
