The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, in a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that her country “will never recognize Russia’s attempts to annex sovereign territory.” This was reported by the spokesman of Downing Street .

In a statement, Downing Street’s press secretary noted that Truss emphasized “UK’s unwavering support in light of Russia’s bogus referendums in Ukraine.”

“The Prime Minister made it clear that the United Kingdom will never recognize Russia’s attempts to annex sovereign territory. She reiterated that Ukraine can count on Britain’s support until President Putin is defeated,” Downing Street added.
During the phone call, President Zelenskyi hailed Truss’ “resolute support” and the Prime Minister thanked Zelenskyi for his work to secure the release of five British citizens held by Russian-backed proxies in eastern Ukraine.
These votes are illegal, and Ukraine and Western countries everywhere call them “fake”.
