Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 4, 2021 – Policy
Political scientist Valentin Gaidai told that an effective program for the analysis of electronic declarations has not yet been created in Ukraine.
“This is a consequence of the“ constitutional crisis ”- the confrontation between the OPU, the Constitutional Court and the Verkhovna Rada on e-declaration issues. The fact that the activities of the NAPK have been unblocked is good news, but, nevertheless, this body has existed for several years, and we cannot talk about its effectiveness, ”the political scientist said.
According to V. Gaidai, there is still no program that could analyze e-declarations.
“Consequently, it is impossible to establish on what real means our officials live and whether they correspond to their income. In general, it is necessary either to reform our anti-corruption bodies, or to abandon such a number of them. Because it does not mean the effectiveness of the fight against corruption. There are model countries where corruption has been practically eradicated without so many anti-corruption structures. So far, I do not expect the appearance of some kind of “flywheel” in Ukraine, which will carefully check violations in this matter, “he said.
In Ukraine, the work of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption was unblocked and criminal responsibility for lying in electronic declarations was returned. The relevant laws came into force today.
