The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law according to which children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine (TOT) are offered to register at the actual place of residence of their parents or their legal representatives when obtaining a passport. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk .

“The draft Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine regarding the Registered Place of Residence of Minors for the Period of Temporary Occupation of the Territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation” was approved. The draft law, among other things, proposes to provide that for the period of temporary occupation of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the registered place of residence of minors should be considered the registered place of residence of their parents or other legal representatives or one of them with whom the minor lives,” Melnychuk informed.
Details
The project was initiated by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories. The agency’s website states that in this way children will be entitled to receive an IDP certificate (internally displaced person), which will allow them to receive assistance from the state.

Adviser-Commissioner of the President of Ukraine Daria Gerasymchuk said that during martial law in Ukraine, foreigners have no right to adopt Ukrainian children.
