According to the adviser, the best way for the United States to support Ukraine is practical support on the ground in Ukraine, and “that the process in Brussels should begin at a different time.”
Earlier on Friday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said allies supported “Ukraine’s right to choose its own path”, but warned that any decision on membership should be made by all 30 allies.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States and Canada on Friday also expressed support for Ukraine’s membership in NATO, but refrained from vowing to expedite its adoption.
