One of the players of the Swedish national team began to receive various threats on social networks after the defeat to Finland (2: 3) in the quarterfinals of the World Youth Championship in Edmonton (Canada).
According to the head of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, Olof Estborm, upon arrival home they plan to contact the police to investigate the threats.
“We started working on this through our security service. Of course, the tone of speech that was in those comments is unacceptable. It doesn’t matter if he is a young player or a veteran. So far, we only know about the threat to one hockey player, but it is possible that more players have suffered.”
