Due to the full-scale invasion of Russia, the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine has tripled – currently there are 4.6 million of them. This was reported by the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Daryna Marchak, during the briefing .

“The number of internally displaced persons has tripled as a result of the war. Before the war there were 1.3 million. Now we have 4.6 million citizens. These are only those citizens who submitted their applications for registration as IDPs, although we understand that in fact such there are much more citizens,” Marchak said.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposes to introduce free travel for internally displaced persons (IDPs) during the period of martial law.
On September 7, at a meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the procedure for providing temporary housing to internally displaced persons and persons whose housing was destroyed as a result of hostilities.
