North Korea, on October 4, launched a ballistic missile that could fly over Japanese territory. This is reported by Kyodo with reference to the government’s statement .

North Korea likely fired a missile toward Japan’s northernmost main island, Hokkaido, and its northeastern Aomori Prefecture, it said. The government urged residents of Hokkaido and Aomori to stay in their homes.
Later, it was reported that a North Korean missile apparently fell outside Japanese waters in the Pacific Ocean.
In addition, it is reported that an air alarm was announced in Japan due to the launch of the DPRK’s ballistic missile.
