Details
It is reported that every tenth respondent noted that his home was either destroyed (2%) or damaged (8%). Another 5% do not know the condition of their apartment now.
“For 85%, the situation with housing has not changed. About a third of those whose home is located in the de-occupied territory or territory of hostilities said their homes were damaged. Also, every fifth of those who still have housing in the occupation zone do not know what condition it is in,” the survey results say.
It is also reported that a third of the damaged houses have already begun restoration work: 4% have begun major repairs, 27% – partial. Despite this, 66% have not yet started any work. Among those who have lost their homes, 18% have already applied for damage to Diia, 16% – to law enforcement agencies, 15% – to other state institutions, 67% – have not yet submitted applications anywhere. 39% of victims believe that their homes should be restored as soon as possible, 59% – on the contrary, think that it is worth waiting for the end of the war first.
“The majority of those (58%) who have lost their homes plan to raise their own funds for recovery in the first place. 27% expect to restore the house at public expense, 12% – at the expense of international organizations, 9% – at the expense of volunteers, 7% each – at the expense of relatives or charitable foundations. The owners of the destroyed apartment are more likely to expect help from the state, and the owners of partially damaged housing plan to cope with their own resources,” the survey said.
It is noted that in general, those who have already started repairs mostly do it at their own expense. In general, residents who have already returned home are more active in restoring their homes – most of them have already begun reconstruction work and have filed an application for damage.
