The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance supported the dismissal of Kyrylo Shevchenko from the post of chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, people’s deputies Danylo Hetmantsev and Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on Thursday, October 6, in Telegram .

“The Committee has just recommended to the Verkhovna Rada to support the draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the dismissal of K.E. Shevchenko from the post of Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine,” Hetmantsev wrote.
“The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance approved the resolution on the dismissal of Kyrylo Shevchenko from the post of nbu governor,” Zheleznyak said and added: Further consideration in the Council hall in the coming days.”

According to the MP, in fact, there was no discussion at the committee. The deputies only thanked Mr. Shevchenko for his work. “For – 18. Abstained -1,” he said.
He believes that in the hall of parliament “it is also likely to be without discussion.”

Zelensky submitted to the Council a proposal for the resignation of NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev reported that the Verkhovna Rada would vote for the resignation of Kyrylo Shevchenko from the post of Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine this Thursday, October 6.
Before that, people’s deputies Oleksiy Honcharenko and Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the main contender for the post of NBU governor – after Kyrylo Shevchenko’s resignation statement – was Andriy Pyshnyy.
Thus, the chairman of the National Bank Kyrylo Shevchenko on October 4 announced that he was leaving office due to “health-related reasons.”
