Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 4, 2021 – Auto
The first “phantom patrols” are to appear on the roads of Ukraine from the beginning of this year.
“Phantoms” are patrol cars without identification marks, equipped with devices that detect speeding – both in the opposite and in the opposite direction. If a violation of the rules is detected, the “phantom patrol” will turn on flashing lights and stop the offending driver.
At the end of 2020, the patrol police received four Skoda Kodiaq cars worth 3.7 million hryvnias and related equipment worth almost three million more. It was reported that from the end of the year they will start testing “phantom patrols”, and from the beginning of 2021 they will start working.
The patrol police also reported that in 2021 they plan to purchase another 125 such cars. Other brands of cars will be bought under the “phantoms” so that drivers do not get used to the fact that the patrol can only hide behind a Skoda Kodiaq. Patrols will work in cities and on regional highways.
