The commander of the Russian group in Ukraine has been appointed – according to RosSMI .

It is reported that General Sergei Surovikin has been appointed commander of the joint group in the area of the “special military operation”.
According to open data, until today he served as commander-in-chief of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation.
Under his direct leadership, at least part of the Russian troops in Ukraine, the southern group of troops, was already under his direct leadership. It should be noted that this official appointment of Surovikin was preceded by his mention in the public space of the Russian Federation as the commander of the “special operation”.
Before the invasion of Ukraine, Surovikin commanded a Russian group in Syria.
