The forced transfer of civilians, including children, from the occupied territories to the territory of the occupying country is a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilians and a war crime.
Currently, Ukraine has information based on appeals about the deportation of almost 8 thousand children. However, it is indicated that according to open sources of information of the Russian Federation, there may be more than 685 thousand such children.
