The morning explosion on the Kerch bridge indicates the beginning of the de-occupation of the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, in particular, the right bank of the Dnieper. In addition, it marks logistical and economic difficulties for the occupying authorities and blocking the supply of heavy equipment and enemy personnel.

“The situation with the Crimean bridge will indicate the de-occupation of the occupied areas of the Kherson region, first of all, the right bank of the Dnieper. We can already say and state that the Russian group, which is located in the Kherson region, is already deprived of the possibility of obtaining ammunition, fuel and lubricants, and most importantly – it is the rotation and removal of the wounded. In just a day, up to 60 cars with military equipment and weapons passed along the Crimean bridge towards Kherson. Disabling, of course, will create possible consequences for the further successful nature of the advance of Ukrainian troops towards Kherson,” the expert believes.

He noted that it is worth talking about the sustainable nature of the work of the Ukrainian side on the demilitarization of the occupied peninsula. Snegirev explained that the Crimean bridge is the main logistical component of the occupation administration, and not just the military component.
Thanks to the Crimean bridge, the occupiers not only transfer military equipment, personnel and heavy armored vehicles. First of all, it ensures the livelihoods of the occupied peninsula, the expert says.
“It is no coincidence that after the explosion, the occupation administration stated that now no more than three kilograms of groceries, that is, cereals, and so on will be sold into the hands of Crimeans. This is the first evidence that there are certain economic difficulties, and the Russian Federation is forced to reckon with this fact,” the political scientist continued.
Thus, the disabling of the Crimean bridge paralyzes the possibility for the occupying army to maintain the livelihoods of the Russian contingent in the Kherson region.
Regarding the prospects for the liberation of the annexed peninsula in the near future, the expert stressed that there are several points that complicate the de-occupation of Crimea. But at the same time, we can say that the foundations for the liberation of the occupied areas of the peninsula have already been created.
“It is no coincidence that British intelligence and other Western experts name specific dates – namely, Catholic Christmas, as a possible date of de-occupation, primarily in the Kherson region. The annexed Crimea is not currently in question, as there are several points that complicate the de-occupation of Crimea. But at the same time, we can also say that the foundations for the liberation of the occupied regions of Crimea have been created. Currently, Ukrainian troops have reached a number of key positions in the Kherson region. This, in fact, is an overhang over the Russian groups in the berislav area, and, accordingly, the possibility of a breakthrough front in the Snihurivka area.
Beryslav is interesting because it is located 10 km from Nova Kakhovka. Nova Kakhovka is water in Crimea. If it is possible, in fact, to localize the Russian grouping in the area of Nova Kakhovka and Beryslav, then one of the goals of the Russian special operation, namely, the supply of water to the Crimea, will be localized. Accordingly, then the question will arise not only of military levers of influence regarding the de-occupation of Crimea, but also, accordingly, of economic one. That is, conditions will be created that will allow us to talk about the successful nature of the advance of Ukrainian troops deep into the peninsula,” he explained.
In particular, the successful nature of the advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region, namely the entry into the positions of Beryslav and Nova Kakhovka, according to the expert, will make it possible to keep the Crimean Isthmus under fire control. And if these tasks are fulfilled in the near future – November / December, then it will be possible to talk about the liberation of the Crimean peninsula in the nearest historical perspective – in 2023, the expert adds.
