According to another Observer poll, Liz Trass’ personal ratings are falling.
Trass’ personal approval rating at -47 was the worst ever recorded by the prime minister in an Opinium poll for the Observer. That’s a worse rating than Boris Johnson during the height of the so-called party scandal and his predecessor Theresa May, weeks before her resignation.
This suggests that the perception of the prime minister among voters has deteriorated despite the Tory party conference, when leaders and parties traditionally see a sharp increase in support when they are given the opportunity to present their political vision.
More than half of respondents (53%) believe Trass should resign. Only 25% believe she should remain a Tory leader.
Among those who supported the Tories in the last election, 41% believe Trass should stay in office, while 39% believe she should resign.
