Child rights spokesman Mikolai Pavliak called Russia’s abduction of Ukrainian children one of the war crimes for which it should be tried in a special international tribunal.
Details
Pavlyak believes that Russia should be tried by an international tribunal for the abduction of Ukrainian children. Many of the abducted Ukrainian children end up in Russian families. On the air of Polish Radio 24, he said that Russia was violating international conventions in this way.

“It’s just a crime, one of the war crimes. We need to talk about it loudly. Not just murder and torture. The selection of the younger generation is also a war crime, and this should not be forgotten, and it must be judged for. Tribunals must also be set up for this, because it is a violation of fundamental rights — pulling out of the education of one people to another,” Pavlyak said.
The Ombudsman said the situation reminded him of World War II, when a German camp was set up in Lodz for orphans on the lands that were part of the Third Reich and the Governorate-General.
Recall
As a result of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops wounded at least 798 children in Ukraine and killed 421.
