“Yesterday, Ukrainians across the country, responding to the call, voluntarily reduced electricity consumption by an average of 10%… Today we will also ask to limit electricity consumption. Also, during peak hours – from 17:00 to 23:00, please do not turn on energy-intensive appliances: electric stoves, electric kettles, power tools, heaters and air conditioners, ovens and irons, microwave ovens, coffee makers, washing machines and dishwashers. This is very important for the stable operation of our energy system,” Shmyhal wrote on Telegram.

He noted that due to the need to restore damaged critical infrastructure in some regions, a power outage schedule is used.
“It is important to understand that such consumption restrictions are not associated with a shortage of power in the power system, but solely with the need for restoration work. Now there is no need either for emergency assistance from European countries or for the import of electricity. We have such an opportunity, if necessary,” Shmyhal said.
Supplement
On October 10, the Op-Ed called on Ukrainians to limit electricity consumption in the evening.
Today, October 11, there will be no rolling blackouts in Kyiv.
As previously reported, after massive missile strikes on energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions, a schedule of emergency outages was introduced.
