China reported 1026 new cases of COVID-19 infection as of October 15, of which 244 were symptoms and 782 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said Sunday.

There were no new deaths, like the previous day, the number of deaths remained at 5226. As of Saturday, mainland China had confirmed 255,773 cases with symptoms.
The capital, Beijing, reported 17 symptoms and three asymptomatic cases, compared with 14 symptoms and three asymptomatic cases the previous day, according to data from local authorities.
The Shanghai Financial Center reported 28 asymptomatic and zero symptomatic cases, up from 38 asymptomatic and four symptom cases a day earlier, state media reported, citing the Shanghai Health Authority.
Shenzhen Southern Technology Center reported 15 new local COVID-19 infections, up from 36 a day earlier, Guangdong health authorities said.
