From now on, 17 October, NATO Air Forces will work out nuclear deterrence capabilities involving dozens of aircraft over northwestern Europe. The training will last until October 30. This was reported on the NATO website .

Training flights will take place over Belgium, which hosts exercises, as well as over the North Sea and the United Kingdom. Military weapons are not used.
“These exercises help ensure that the Alliance’s nuclear deterrence remains safe, secure and effective,” said NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu.
For example, NATO’s new Strategic Concept, endorsed by Allied leaders at the Madrid Summit in June, clearly states that “the fundamental purpose of NATO’s nuclear capabilities is to preserve peace, prevent coercion and deter aggression”.
It notes that “as long as nuclear weapons exist, NATO will remain a nuclear alliance. NATO’s goal is a safer world for all; We are committed to creating a security environment for a world without nuclear weapons.”

On September 21, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, in his address to the Russians, said that he would defend the territorial integrity and independence of the Russian Federation by all available means – he did not rule out the use of nuclear weapons.
