At a plenary session on Wednesday, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a basis the government’s draft law No. 8008, which provides for the prevention of Russian citizens or those who support armed aggression against Ukraine from leading and managing the subjects of primary financial monitoring (which includes banks and other financial institutions). 280 people’s deputies voted “for”. Details
The draft law provides for the protection of the economic and internal interests of Ukraine’s national security, territorial integrity, namely the protection of the financial system of Ukraine from threats arising from the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
In particular, the document provides for the prevention and management of the subjects of primary financial monitoring of persons who are citizens of the state that carries out armed aggression against Ukraine and / or support armed aggression against Ukraine, and classifying clients whose activities are related to the state that carries out armed aggression against Ukraine as high-risk.

On October 14, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt draft law No. 8008.
