On Wednesday, October 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a plenary session, at which it condemned Iran’s assistance to Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine and called on the world community not to exclude sanctions against the country. This was announced in his Telegram by the chairman of the subcommittee on the Rules of the Verkhovna Rada, people’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” Pavlo Frolov .

Thus, the Parliament adopted Resolution No. 8133, which condemned Iran’s assistance to Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
MPs called on the international community to immediately take all possible measures to stop Iran’s arms supplies to Russia, and in case of refusal – to impose effective sanctions against Iran, its top political leadership and companies.

On October 18, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced that he had submitted to the President of Ukraine a proposal to terminate diplomatic relations with Iran.
Due to Iran’s supply of weapons to Russia for warfare, Ukrainian side decided to deprive the Iranian Ambassador to Ukraine of accreditation and significantly reduce the number of diplomatic staff of the embassy in Kyiv.
Kuleba also appealed to the EU to impose sanctions on Iran for supplying Russia with weapons.
Iranian officials have denied reports that the country is sending weapons, including military drones, to Russia for war in Ukraine, calling it a “lie.”
