Ukrainian basketball is writing a new page in its history in the conditions of war. The resumption of competitions, including the Parimatch Super League, became possible thanks to the successful actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which defend our country in different directions, .
There are currently many people in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteer formations who are directly related to Ukrainian basketball. Among them are the president of BC “Kharkov Falcons” and the Basketball Federation of Kharkov – Sergey Chebyshev.
Therefore, when in the summer the Basketball Federation of Ukraine with the support of long-term partner Parimatch Ukraine held the Cup of Ukraine in basketball 3×3, one of the main goals of the organizers was to raise funds for the purchase of a car for the volunteer formation of the territorial community “Charter”, where Chebyshev serves.
Thanks to the players’ contributions, prizes for winning each of the Cup rounds and donations from Ukrainian fans, the required amount of 300,000 UAH was collected, and the car was purchased and already transferred to the front line.
“Right now, the car is already in the Kupyansk area. He is in excellent technical condition, and I hope that he will serve our defenders for a long time. So I am grateful to the Basketball Federation of Ukraine for the idea, for the implementation, and of course, to everyone who participated in the fundraiser. Special thanks to the President of the FBU: due to his one-time contribution of 100 thousand rubles. uah during the auction of Karim Abdul Jabarr’s game jersey with an autograph, the fee was closed,” said Sergey Chebyshev during a press conference dedicated to the start of the Parimatch Super League season.
It should be noted that Parimatch Ukraine, a partner of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine, continues to support charitable initiatives aimed at helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to provide military units with the equipment necessary for combat missions. In total, during the full-scale war, Parimatch transferred assistance to Ukraine in the amount of UAH 269 million, most of them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
